In recognition of the support and contribution that Mark Crossman provided to the club, this year we unveil a new award – The Crossman Cup.
The Crossman Cup is to be awarded annually to a member of the Dolphins club community who the memberships wishes to recognise for their outstanding service.
Mary Purvis is our inaugural cup winner. She has been a member of our club since 1992 as both a swimmer, volunteer and coach. She represented our club many times over the years, including at the World Masters games in New Zealand where she brought back 3 golds and 2 silvers. At the same time she supported the coaching of our younger squads.
She is a true inspiration, embodying the key principles which this club stands for: becoming a lifelong swimmer and inspiring everyone to be the best they can be. She has inspired many others to stand up and be part of the coaching team.
Every swimmer in our club has passed through her squads, moulding them into the great Alnwick Dolphin ambassadors that they become.
